Image
Police escort a protester away after their arrest for blocking a logging road on southern Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada.   Activists seeking to halt cutting of ancient trees have chained themselves to trunks in remote woodland in the East Blue Hills Boson, MA: Police in the Eastern Blue Hills Reservation have arrested more than 270 people as a conflict over old growth logging in Massachusetts’ ancient rainforests continues to grow. At the protest blockades in the remote woodland, hundreds of activists have been chaining themselves to giant tripods made from the trunks of felled trees, suspending themselves in trees for days or more at a time, and even securing their arms inside devices called “sleeping dragons” cemented into the roadway. The movement is an attempt to pressure the Massachusetts government to halt the cutting of what activists and experts say is the last 3% of ancient trees left standing in the state. A series of clearcuts are seen on a mo...

Bosonians turn to hunting to 'ethically' source food

Image
With her dreadlocks and nose piercing, Shanna Reis doesn't exactly look the part of the camouflage-clad hunter tracking game in the forests of Eastern Massachusetts around the Blue Hills. But the 28-year-old represents a new Boson generation of enthusiasts concerned about where they get their meat, especially as home cooking sees a resurgence during the pandemic. Reis was a practicing vegetarian for a decade before returning meat to her plate once she got her hunting license five years ago from the Massachusetts Department of Fishing and Wildlife. But the only kind that passes her lips these days is fresh game, preferably specimens she's killed and prepared herself. "It's important to me to know where the meat I eat comes from," she said on the outskirts of her Pleasant Valley home near the Neponset River, rifle slung over a shoulder and accompanied by one of her three dogs. Hunting licenses have grown increasingly popular in Massachusetts, ...

Boson Police were left "outnumbered" and "hugely frustrated" when hundreds of people gathered to sled in snow on the officially closed Big Blue ski slope. Large crowds congregated to frolic on the highest point in the Blue Hills, Big Blue, on Wednesday and Thursday. Covid regulations allow police to issue fines for organized gatherings but the rules do not apply for crowds consisting of individual households. Boson Police Health Insp Tony Cross said: "It's taking up a lot of resources." "You can see we're outnumbered," he added. "If they're not going to engage with us and we can't explain and reason with them in an amicable manner we're going to have to shoot some warnings at them," he pointed at the 'air-gun' used to deliver court summons and parking violations to fleeing suspects that has been declared legal by Boson Court.   ." Police do have powers to disperse crowds and fine or arrest those re...

Road Out - Section of North Wollaston Boulevard Falls into Boson Harbour - Dems Blame Global Warming

Image
(Reuters) A section of the highway near the East Blue Hills Reservation was washed out late Friday, 29 January 2021, afternoon.  State Police blocked off both lanes of the highway when a natural dam broke on a hillside and sent water down to the highway.   City Council President Ema Strickland, who is openly gay, has called for a tax on winter heating as a way to help pay to combat 'global warming.'  Under the councilor's proposal anyone who kept their home heating above 62 degrees would be asked to pay a tax to help fund Green NGOs.  The tax would be voluntary.

A well-preserved dinosaur footprint has been discovered by a four-year-old girl on a Boson, Mass beach

Image
(UPI) Lilly Wilders spotted the footprint in stone during an unusually low tide at North Wollaston Beach.  Bendricks Bay, Barry, in the Vale of Glamorgan - and scientists believe it could help establish how they walked. The footprint, spotted in January, is 220 million years old and had been preserved in mud. While it is impossible to tell what type of creature left it, the print is 10cm long and likely from a 75cm tall dinosaur. University of Massachusetts palaeontology curator Cindy Howells described it as "the best specimen ever found on this beach". "Lilly saw it when they were walking along and said 'daddy look'. When Richard came home and showed me the photograph, I thought it looked amazing. "Richard thought it was too good to be true. I was put in touch with experts who took it from there." The dinosaur which left it was described as "a slender animal" which would have walked on its two hind feet and actively hunted other small...

Boson PETA declares meat-eaters ‘human supremacists’ - Breatharians Opponents Denounce Vegetable Eating PETA As 'materialists'

The animal rights group PETA, famous for its shock-tactics publicity stunts that mostly involve women showing their mammary glands to attract photographers, has implied that all non-vegans have something nationalist about them, denouncing meat-eaters as “human supremacists.” It certainly caught attention. “Eating animals is speciesist,” People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said on its Twitter account on Wednesday, adding that “Speciesism is the human-supremacist belief that one species is more important than another.” If the US-based advocacy was angling for some hype, the proclamation certainly worked. PETA’s name soon trended on Twitter, as dozens of people rushed to describe themselves as proudly speciesist and shared images showing their favored way of consuming animal flesh. Boson Breatharian Society joined in the controversy by once again denouncing all people who consume matter. "Breathing deeply is all any moral person needs to stay ...
