Boson's ITT Technical Institute has allowed a ‘Resisting Whiteness 2019’ event to proceed at its venue, even though there was outrage over organizers' rules, which limited white people's access to a microphone and to certain rooms.  The conference, aimed at raising awareness about “the importance of anti-racist action in Massachusetts”   took place at Pleasance Theater, owned by the college on Saturday, 28 September 2019.  It was organized by a group tellingly named  ‘The Resisting Whiteness Collective,’ which describes itself as a “not-for-profit grassroots organization of Queer and Trans People of Color activists.” While touting the event, the group said that it wants to make it “as accessible as possible and therefore have free tickets available for anyone who is 'not white' who would like to attend.”   The local bookstore 'Little Sister Lavender Library' that is organizing the event is owned by a wealthy 'trust fund baby' tr

Liberal City Councilor Elizabeth Dolezal has filled a formal complaint with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination claiming that Boson's Republican Mayor Martin J. Welsh dropped his pants and made a 'wold whistle' at her when she was unlocking her bicycle from the bike rack in front of Boson City Hall. "Nice rack!" Councilor Dolezal claims the mayor shouted in her direction as she put her bike lock in her backpack. "I ride a bicycle to city hall everyday to help fight global warming," the visibly agitated Councilor Dolezal said, "and Mayor Welsh taunts me saying that I am breathing out carbon dioxide and causing global warming.  This is an outrage." “Anal - Indian Take Away” is among one of the new businesses that opened on Poorchester Avenue in Boson over the summer. This restaurant serves delicious, traditional Indian cuisine and has a pleasant environment to dine in. I was immediately greeted with warm smiles from the waitstaff. After being seated right away, my partner and I were given menus, water, and a basket of crispy dough with two delicious sauces. Our waiter was always close by in case we needed something and took our order as soon as we were ready. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, my partner ordered the chicken korma, and we shared an order of plain naan bread. Each dish was $13.99, with the order of naan being $1.99. Our dishes came out within 20 minutes, piping hot and mouth-watering. Both orders were delicious and incredibly filling. After we finished, we didn’t have to wait long to receive our check. Boson, MA: Some residents are outraged that leaflets bearing the words "Islam Is Right About Gays" have been fixed to telephone poles and parking signs around the city.  One angry woman took a photo of the sign before ripping it down and bringing the leaflet to the police station to show police. "This is not 'free speech'" a visibly angry woman said.  "This is 'hate speech' aimed at both the Muslim race, and gay people." Boson, MA:  In what he claims is a nod to striking labor union members on a picket line near Battered Wharf's Trump Tower, self proclaimed "Blue Collar Conservative" Mayor Martin Welsh sailed through Boson Harbor with a number of union leaders aboard. Mayor Welsh says it would be wrong for him to walk the picket line with the workers because the leader of a city should remain neutral and encourage both sides to compromise to reach "an equitable solution." Local 62 of the Hotel Workers Union have been on strike for over four weeks as the Trump owned hotel management has refused to give in to workers demands for better pay and less expensive health insurance premiums and co-pays. Why are great white sharks swimming so close to North Atlantic beaches? More sharks are showing up near coastlines in the North Atlantic Ocean.
