Boson Police Conduct City Wide Man (and Woman) Hunt for Escaped Murder Suspects (AP) 28 Aug 2019



BOSON Massachusetts (AP) — A couple suspected in a Tucson killing have escaped after overpowering two security guards while being extradited from New York to Arizona, authorities said Tuesday.  Boson Police Department have announced city wide manhunt to apprehend the alleged suspects.  There will be checkpoints and roadblocks throughout the city of Boson in the coming days. 

Boson police said Blane Barksdale, 56, and his 59-year-old wife Susan Barksdale escaped Monday evening in Henrietta, New York.  While there is no reason to believe the couple would be heading to Boson, the Boson Police Department thought it would be a good idea to be pro-active and search the entire city for the suspects.  All police department leaves and vacations were cancelled. 



The wanted couple were last seen in a pickup truck with an Arizona license plate and possibly driving through Arizona, according to police who said the couple was believed to be armed and dangerous.

The two were arrested May 24 in Henrietta, New York, in connection with the slaying the previous month of Frank Bligh, 72, in Tucson.
The FBI, U.S. Marshals Service and Apache County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the investigation.
Bligh was last seen at a Tucson bar one week before an April 16 arson fire at his Tucson home, police said.  They said Bligh's missing car was later found and evidence inside led detectives to determine that he was dead.

 Boson motorists should expect delays around town.  Have your ID's and insurance papers and other documents ready for the police check point interrogations.  Remember to take small children to the bathroom before leaving home in case there is delay in getting through checkpoints. 
While primarily looking for the alleged couple on the run police will also take the opportunity to prevent other crimes from happening and reminding people of the rules of the road and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boson.

'Islam Is Right About Gays' Leaflets Taped To Signs Around Town - Police Launch Manhunt - 28 Sept 2019

Boson, MA: Some residents are outraged that leaflets bearing the words "Islam Is Right About Gays" have been fixed to telephone poles and parking signs around the city.  One angry woman took a photo of the sign before ripping it down and bringing the leaflet to the police station to show police. "This is not 'free speech'" a visibly angry woman said.  "This is 'hate speech' aimed at both the Muslim race, and gay people." Police have said that they will see if there were any witnesses to the criminal trespassing committed when the papers were affixed to the utility poles, which are private property, and the street signs, which are owned by the city.
