Mass Senator E. Warren Performs "I'm an Indian, Too" - At Boson County Fair - 18 Sept 2019


Boson County Fair had a treat when Senator Elizabeth Warren, who is running for president in 2020, took to the stage in a good-natured  song number poking fun at her cultural appropriation of Native American Indian identity to get a job at Harvard Law School as the "First Woman of Color" despite being a blonde blue-eyed European. 


"I'm an Indian Too" is a song from the 1946 musical Annie Get Your Gun, by Irving Berlin. It was originally performed by Ethel Merman.[1] It is sung by the main character Annie after Sitting Bull adopts her into the Sioux tribe

It is typical of mid-20th-century views of Native Americans, and is sometimes considered racist and demeaning from a contemporary perspective, although others see it as a mildly satirical attack on racial stereotyping. Native Americans did protest outside the New York theatre, as well as movie theaters, holding picket signs stating: "Don't See "Annie Get Your Gun". As a result of this reaction, many contemporary productions have omitted the song from their revivals,[2] and the protests stopped.

In 1979, the song was remixed and released as a dance track by disco artist Don Armando.[3]
Other singers to have recorded the song include Judy Garland and Betty Hutton.

'Islam Is Right About Gays' Leaflets Taped To Signs Around Town - Police Launch Manhunt - 28 Sept 2019

Boson, MA: Some residents are outraged that leaflets bearing the words "Islam Is Right About Gays" have been fixed to telephone poles and parking signs around the city.  One angry woman took a photo of the sign before ripping it down and bringing the leaflet to the police station to show police. "This is not 'free speech'" a visibly angry woman said.  "This is 'hate speech' aimed at both the Muslim race, and gay people." Police have said that they will see if there were any witnesses to the criminal trespassing committed when the papers were affixed to the utility poles, which are private property, and the street signs, which are owned by the city. City Councilor Ema Strickland said, "The blame for this type of hated is ultimately the fault of our Republican Mayor Welsh who is both Homophobic and Islamophobic.  Additionally this goes right to the top and I blame President Trump."
