Budget Airline Grounded - Boson Jet Parks Planes at Boson International Airport After Federal Complaints


(UPI) After repeated complaints from passengers, Boson Jet's fleet of four planes has been grounded at Boson International Airport.  Health officials from the federal CDC in Atlanta made a special trip to inspect the small fleet after reports of improperly cleaned planes and numerous COVID-19 cases being reported.  One flight from Florida saw every passenger tested positive for the virus after flight crews said that they were required to fly even though they thought they were sick. The budget airline is known for keeping a very low number of workers on staff and making flight crews work overtime in violation of federal regulations.

Boson Jet is also known as the 'Air Uber' airline because most of the pilots and co-pilots are retired from other airlines or the military and are paid by the trip, like ride-share drivers, rather than on salary as permanent employees.  Boson Jet is proudly non-union.  

Boson Mayor Martin Welsh, whose family owns a controlling interest in the airline, downplayed the grounding.  "We want to have an abundance of caution during these troubled times.  We will cooperate with federal authorities.  I have personally called my good friend President Trump to see if he can expedite any red tape we must go through to get the planes in the air again when things calm down.  There is not much travel now anyway."

When this reporter asked if the mayor's cousin, who is head of the Boson Airport Authority, let Boson Jet ignore regulations the mayor shook his head.  "No, no," he said.  "We follow all rules and regulations."

He added, "We are hoping for a federal 'bail out' to help maintain Boson Jet's profitability.  Let's face it,"  he said. "The US is a capitalist society.  If the government takes care of the capitalists, capitalism will take care of the population.  Capitalism is the pinnacle of human civilization.  The cell phone you are recording this press conference with is the product of capitalism."

"My cell phone came from Communist China," one reporter said.

"So does the Corona Virus," replied the mayor.

Jack Rabbits Overrun Half Moon Island - Reach Mainland Gardens in Quincy and Boson

Jack rabbits overrun  After Animal Rights activists and volunteers helped bring wild Jackrabbits to Half Moon Island in Quincy Bay the animals began to proliferate.  Almost every island in Boston Harbor now has numbers of the hungry rabbits.  Nearby in Quincy and Boson the rabbits are eating there way through peoples gardens and even lawns.   .
