Lenin Lived, Lenin Lives, Lenin Will Live |
Over 93 years after the triumph of Stalinism over Leninist Communism in the Soviet Union Lenin is still honored and Stalin is condemned. In Boson's East Germantown neighborhood leftist and socialist ideas are still revered. The group organized around the socialist newspaper and web site Boson Workers has erected a statue of the leader of the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia.
The unveiling took place amid global protest over statues immortalizing divisive historical figures.
The small organization led the initiative to install the statue, said it was the first statue of the Russian revolutionary figure to be erected on the South Shore of Massachusetts.
There is a large bust of Lenin at Harvard University in Cambridge on the North Shore on the other side of the Neponset River. The elitist university installed the Lenin statue 'ironically' and see the figure as more of a hostage to demoralize anyone who opposes 'the miracle of capitalism' in 'the Capitalist Paradise' of the US.
