"We eat trees" - Boson Couple Charged With Deforestation by Environmental Protection Agency

(UPI) A Boson vegan couple who call themselves 'Omni-arborists' have been charged with chopping down an eating over 20,000 trees bordering the East Blue Hills Reservation.  While technically not part of the state park, the area is still a section of protected forested lands.

Jen and Eric Sample are currently out on bail while awaiting charges.  There is no lawyer listed at the Boson Federal Courthouse who represents them.

The couple built their house with wood they cut down, built a barn and other outbuildings from the rough wood, heat and cook with wood, and sell wood chips to the eco-friendly Boson Renewable Energy Plant.  The wood chip burning facility in Boson uses wood to ignite natural gas run turbines and gets large subsidies from the Federal government.

In a 2016 interview with the Boson Green Magazine Jen and Eric Sample provided a number of recipes for eating cooked soft pine wood.  The booklet 'Pow Wow Wood Chow is available on their web site.  Jen Sample said that Pine Soup had a nutty flavor and helped in digestion and constipation problems that many women experience and was cheaper than the 'store bought' pro-biotics that many yogurts claim to provide.

The couple was noticed by an EPA agent who stopped at their roadside stand where they were selling bundles of split firewood without a Federal license.  Upon closer investigation he found the couple was diverting water from the Neponset River illegally to water a crop of Christmas trees.

Despite the stolen public water the couple has turned the area of their property around their home into a virtual desert.  The EPA suspects the couple are logging in the state park under the cover of darkness.  This could help explain the stories of people hearing strange noises coming from the East Blue Hills at night.

Some suspect that the husband has been dressing up as 'tree man' to avoid being locked down during the COVIDaster quarantine.

He was spotted by a neighbors security cameras.

The 'back to nature' couple denounces the use of all modern conveniences except chain saws, wood chippers, and an electric powered saw mill.

The odd ball couple upset many in the lumber industry by selling '2 x 4' lengths of soft pine that actually measured two inches by four inches.
