MBTA Red Line Subway Train Crashes Into Boson Whaling Museum on Neponset River - 2 Nov 2020

(AP) — Boson, MASS --- 2 Nov 2020

The driver of an MBTA metro train escaped injury when the front carriage rammed through the end of an elevated section of rails and was caught by a sculpture of a whale's tail near the Massachusetts port city of Boson.

Images broadcast on local media early Monday showed the metro suspended on the whale's tail several meters (yards) above the ground.

The company that operates the metro line said the driver was uninjured and there were no passengers on the train when it crashed through stop barriers at the end of the station near the Whaling Museum on the southern edge of the Neponset River, early Monday morning.

The station is the final stop on the metro line.  Governor Charles Duane Baker Jr. said that once again the labor unions who work on the MBTA are overpaid and not attending to their work.

Boson's Green Party issued a statement co-signed by the Boson Democrats calling for the repurposing of the museum.  "We need to stop glorifying the men who went down to the sea in ships to kill innocent whales, one of the most magnificent creatures in the world oceans.  Enough! Stop Glorifying Genocide!"

Boson Mayor Welsh responded: "There they go again."
