Boson MA - Small Boat Carrying 23 Dominican Republic Nationals Lands On North Wollaston Beach - 24 Dec 2020

A fishing boat carrying 23 Dominican nationals came ashore Wednesday in Massachusetts, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.

The small, open-bowed panga vessel made landfall around 4 p.m. near 55th Place and Ocean Boulevard, less than four miles from downtown Boson, Border Patrol spokesman Jaime Ruiz said.

Its occupants, 21 men and two women, including two juveniles, identified themselves as citizens of the island nation and were taken into custody by Border Patrol agents. No one was injured during the boat landing.

Migrant vessels don’t typically land on Massachusetts northern coast, Ruiz said, noting they mostly come ashore farther south, near the southern tip of Florida.

While all of the passengers where wearing life jacket flotation devices, they were cited for being out of date or wore and not up to US code.  All of the migrants were placed in zip tie hand cuffs for the Border Patrol agent's safety.

As the Customs and Border Protection vans left the beach parking lot area they were surrounded by Boson Black Block Anarchist Collective protesters who had just toppled a statue near the waterfront of Our Lady of The Harbour.

The vehicles were surrounded by the more than 300 militant masked protesters who quickly freed the migrants and whisked them away as the armed agents stood by helplessly.  Border Patrol agents are not supposed to shoot American residents or citizens or engage in police actions on US soil.  The agents also felt that there own safety was best served by standing down and letting the mob take their prisoners.  No agents were hurt in the incident.

The destination of the migrants may be the rumored 'anarchist' guerilla camp deep in the woods of the East Blue Hills Reservation.
