East Blue Hills Sledding Frustrates Police - Defiant Crowd Refuses to Disperse - Taunts Cops With Chants 'Defund Police'


 

Boson Police were left "outnumbered" and "hugely frustrated" when hundreds of people gathered to sled in snow on the officially closed Big Blue ski slope.

Large crowds congregated to frolic on the highest point in the Blue Hills, Big Blue, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Covid regulations allow police to issue fines for organized gatherings but the rules do not apply for crowds consisting of individual households.

Boson Police Health Insp Tony Cross said: "It's taking up a lot of resources."

"You can see we're outnumbered," he added.

"If they're not going to engage with us and we can't explain and reason with them in an amicable manner we're going to have to shoot some warnings at them," he pointed at the 'air-gun' used to deliver court summons and parking violations to fleeing suspects that has been declared legal by Boson Court.

Police do have powers to disperse crowds and fine or arrest those refusing to leave, but only if they have a justifiable reason such as disorder or crime.

Boson Police said officers would "engage with the public where it is proportionate to do so".

One man was arrested for indecent exposure when he ducked into a clump of trees and peed.  A female officer had followed him and spotted his penis out.  She then called for backup and the handcuffed man was taken way screaming, "why did you follow me to look at my dick?"  Police confiscated his sled and a cooler with a six pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon generic beer.  His children were allowed to leave crying with their mother who was told to come to the police station in the morning.  "Bring bandages," the officer said to the wife. "the other prisoners don't like sex offenders." 

As the weekend sets in there are reports of more snow for New England for the coming week.

'Islam Is Right About Gays' Leaflets Taped To Signs Around Town - Police Launch Manhunt - 28 Sept 2019

Boson, MA: Some residents are outraged that leaflets bearing the words "Islam Is Right About Gays" have been fixed to telephone poles and parking signs around the city.  One angry woman took a photo of the sign before ripping it down and bringing the leaflet to the police station to show police. "This is not 'free speech'" a visibly angry woman said.  "This is 'hate speech' aimed at both the Muslim race, and gay people." Police have said that they will see if there were any witnesses to the criminal trespassing committed when the papers were affixed to the utility poles, which are private property, and the street signs, which are owned by the city.
