North Wollaston Commuter Rail Station - Passengers Lunch Crushed Under Train - "I tried to swerve," train driver says

Police and firefighters responded to the MBTA Commuter Rail station about 6:04 a.m. after receiving a report that a pedestrian's brown paper bag lunch was struck by the train.

Firefighters performed CPR on the victim after arriving at the scene.

"A male, age unknown at this time, has been pronounced unable to go to work as a result of injuries sustained to the lunch he had just purchased at the nearby Dunkin Donunts," MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan said.

Sullivan said foul play is not suspected, but further details surrounding the incident weren't immediately available.

"We are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident," he said.
