Bernie Surprises No One: "I'd rather be Joe Biden's friend than President" (Boson Workers) 22 April 2020

Image
(Staff) Once again Vermont Independent 'Socialist' Senator Bernard Sanders has led a year long campaign for the Democratic Party nomination to become president only to end the effort and call for a rallying around the winning Democrat.  In this years race there was a warmth between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden that was missing during the campaign in 2016.  H. Clinton and Senator Sanders did not like each other and there was a frosty feeling in the air when they were onstage together for debates or other political events.  However Sanders put his personal inclinations aside and did over three dozen campaign rally events to support Clinton for President in 2016.  Still H. Clinton recently said of Bernie Sanders, "Nobody likes him!" At least that's better than when she said of the knife rape assassination of Libya's Gaddafy, "We came, we saw, he died." H. Clinton did not have much thanks for Senator Sanders efforts to help elect her in the book sh...

During Business Disruptions - Shopping Carts Escaping Into the Wild - Feral Packs Spotted In East Blue Hills (Boson Globe) 20 April 2020

Image
While many Boson businesses are shut down because of the COVID-19 virus there has been a notable disappearance of shopping carts.  At first managers thought customers were on foot and taking carts to walk home with their groceries and other purchases.  A company that drives around neighborhoods picking up the stray shopping carts has said that many of the carts are actually escaping into the wild.  Philip Jackson, of the We-Pick-Up-Carts, has been studying shopping carts for decades after working as a bag boy in a local Stop and Shop and being in charge of collecting the shopping carts. Jackson shared some of his notes for previous weeks as the number of wild shopping cart sightings increases.   ................... Last weekend I stumbled upon a single Black-throated Gray Wobbler on the banks of the Neponset River, Boson's nearby Half Moon Island is prime habitat for many different species of feral shopping carts. Like the very similar Green-thr...

East Blue Hills Cattle Ranchers Burn Fields Despite Boson Health Department Pleas For Clean Air During COVID-19

Image
There is no smoke without fire Boson MASS (AP) — East Blue Hills ranchers eager to prepare their land for cattle grazing have mostly brushed off the plea from city health officials to voluntarily cut back this spring’s prairie burning to reduce air pollution during the coronavirus pandemic. With the potential of the pandemic overwhelming the city’s medical facilities, the Boson Public Health Commission on March 26 encouraged land owners and managers of Boson County's remaining farmers and dairy farmers, and cattle ranchers to reduce burned acres this spring in an effort to mitigate respiratory concerns connected to breathing the smoke and other airborne particles during a time of COVID-19 problems.  Officials warned that individuals with respiratory issues, including COVID-19, as well as those with preexisting heart and lung diseases, children and elderly may experience worse symptoms due to the smoke from fires.  Unfortunately some of the fires ...

13 Crows - Native American Indian Prophecy of Doom Appears Over Blue Hills Lake (AFP) Ominous warnings of impending disaster have circulated through Boson after a troop of crows were spotted over Houghton's Pond in the Blue Hills to the west of the city.  Also remembered by the Native American Indian name Hoosic-Whisick Pond the legend was that Henry David Thoreau was hiking with Nathanial Hawthorn when and old Indian told them the story of the Thirteen Dark Birds who would come when this epoch of time was to end and a new one was to begin.  The Native American said that the last time the flock of crows was seen with the number thirteen was when Columbus was arriving in the New World heralding the end of the Native Cultures freedom and way of life. The Massachusett tribe once fished the pond and hunted in the woodlands that surround what is now called Houghton's Pond. The local Native American Iindian tribe called it Hoosic-Whisick , but around 1690, a British settler...

Skate Park Covered In Sand As SWAT Team Stands By - Boson Police Flummoxed by Bogus 3D Sand Drawing On North Wollaston Beach

Image
(UPI) "It's every policeman's nightmare," Officer Philip Johnson said as he spoke of a call to North Wollaston Beach concerning a 'pop up' skate park violating 'social distancing' and 'shelter in place' advisories from the state and local governments.  "We got to the beach and it was a hoax.  The 'skate park' was an optical illusion in the sand.  The skaters apparently think that's funny," the officer said shaking his head sadly. The youth who like to skate raised money through a foundation to build a skate park across from North Wollaston Beach so that skaters would have a place to go besides the cement ramps of the New City Hall.   In the past two weeks there have been repeated calls to the police to report youths skating in the park and perhaps coming within six feet of each other and maybe not wearing masks.  The skaters say that they are out of school and out of work and out of patience with their famili...

Boson Harbor Driftwood For Sale - Pickup Only

Image
A Boson area man has launched a business from his home after taking a walk on North Wollaston Beach everyday for the last month and picking up driftwood brought in by the tide.  "I thought some of the pieces were beautiful and I began to pick some up and bring them home," John Philips said.  "I had a vague idea of making a coffee table, or a little fort for my son's toy soldiers.  Then my wife said I should see if I can sell the pieces online."
