Boson's Kabuki Theatre Asks Politicians of Both Parties To Stop Using Their Name As An Insult

(AP) A visibly angry Jason Johns, Director of the Boson Kabubi Dinner Theatre in Uptown Boson held a hastily convened presser on the steps of the establishment that offers the public the traditional Japanese drama performances as well as a full dinner at an affordable price.  Because there is no talking during the Kabuki play the customers can converse and make noise at their table without interrupting the performance.

However this virtue has also cause the phrase "Kabuki theater" to enter the political lexicon meaning a slow moving performance designed to take up time.  Perhaps the leader of a legislative body does not want a law to pass.  Instead of coming out against the measure directly and saying what they think, the leaders allow the bill to move through the legislative process slowly and ineffectively.  The liken this to the slow moving Kabuki plays they have seen a little of or heard of.  So.... an insult is born for those who love Kabuki theater.

"We were just getting our business open again," Jason Johns said as he pulled down his mask.  "Okay, 25% capacity, people spread out, the performers in the plays were spread out.  The Kabuki actors were wearing masks under their masks. Okay... Then political season hits.  Both Democrats and Republicans use "Kabuki theater" to describe their opponents." Jason Johns threw his hands up in frustration.  "Even in Boson's mayoral election Councilor Strickland called Mayor Welsh's health department meetings about COVID 'Kabuki theater' and then Mayor Welsh said the city council meetings were 'Kabuki theater.  Enough! Leave us out of it!"
